Serious problems can occur during birth, don't suffer in silence

A woman who suffers a traumatic birth will likely find that the trauma of the birth is only aspect of life that she will have trouble dealing with. Oftentimes, these women are left to suffer in silence because the medical community is largely silent on these issues.

One of the problems that women face is that between the birth and the next medical checkup, there is usually around six weeks that go by. This is a long time for the woman to have to deal with pain. In fact, some women might think that the pain they are experiencing is normal when it is actually due to something else.

Several birth injuries, such as pelvic organ prolapse or pelvic floor damage, can cause pain that doesn't subside as time goes on. Some women don't realize that this is a problem and they don't bring it up to their doctor. In some cases, this is because the postpartum visit is so rushed. The effects of these types of injuries can range from painful intercourse to urinary incontinence.

While there is a common belief in the medical community that a woman's body should be able to fully heal after childbirth, this isn't always what happens. Some women will experience debilitating back pain and other symptoms that make it hard to live a normal life. Some women just don't feel comfortable bringing these points up to their medical care team. Instead, they suffer in silence.

There are some cases in which a woman will have a birth injury that was due to medical negligence. In these cases, the woman might opt to seek compensation for the damages that she has to cope with because of the injury.
