Hospitals should be safe havens, not neglectful centers

Hospitals are charged with giving patients care that meets or exceeds the standard of care. When this doesn’t happen, the patients can suffer from great harm. This is an atrocity that shouldn’t happen to people who are trying to get the care they need from a source they trust.

We understand that there are some very real challenges that come with hospital visits so patients can’t be expected to know everything about what is needed during their stay. Instead, they rely on the nurses and medical staff to let them know what they need to do.

There are many things that can go wrong in a hospital. Nurses might be inattentive to patient’s needs. This can be because of staffing issues or it might be because of neglect. In any case, there has to be a level of accountability that is in place to keep employees in the position where they need to be.

Another issue that can come up has to do with medication. The dosages must be accurate and the medication must be correct. If you already take medications, make sure that they look the same at the hospital. Ask a nurse what you are being given each step of the way.

Some of the other issues that might come up include surgical errors or delays in treatment. Emergency room negligence is especially troublesome.

When you are injured by hospital negligence, remember that you do have rights. One of these is that you have the right to seek compensation for the damages you suffered. We can help you get your case together and move it forward.
